“Scrap Heap” OSU Artist Laureate Tour with Kevin McClatchy
Based on a true story, “Scrap Heap” is a turbulent, darkly funny whiplash tour that examines the costs of war and explores the reality of what we ask of service members as well as society’s responsibility in the transition from service to civilian. This event is a 55-minute screening of the one-man show.
Following each performance or screening of Scrap Heap, Veterans from the community guide a post-show conversation with the audience. These conversations are the centerpiece of the evening, communalizing experiences, dismantling myths, and cultivating empathy and understanding.
Kevin McClatchy is the Head of Acting and Directing in the OSU Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts. Kevin has been facilitating workshops for the military community since 2016.
There will be a reception prior to the screening with appetizers/light refreshments and beverages.
This event is sponsored by The Ohio State University Artist Laureate Program and Office of Academic Affairs.
