The Heart of DoDEA: Championing Military Children [Rally Point]

There are more than 1.6 million military-connected children who face challenges and unique experiences at home and abroad. During the month of April, we’re celebrating the Month of the Military Child; a time to honor the sacrifices made by military families and the children of our nation’s service members. Todd Schlitz, Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Pacific Chief of Staff, joins us to explore how DoDEA empowers military-connected students to succeed in a dynamic world.

Todd M. Schlitz assumed the position of Chief of Staff for the Pacific Region on February 21, 2018.

Prior to this assignment, Mr. Schlitz served as the Chief of Financial Systems Support Branch (FSSB) and Chief of Budget Formulation, Resource Management (RM) Division, Headquarters, Department of Defense Education Activity. In these positions, Mr. Schlitz managed all aspects of DoDEA’s annual budget development and submission to OSD, Eligibility and Enrollment oversight and DoDEA’s Tuition Collection Program.

Prior to these assignments, Mr. Schlitz served as the Chief of Resource Management for the Pacific Region. Mr. Schlitz provided leadership and oversight over the Pacific’s RM teams supporting the Pacific’s three geographically dispersed school districts.

Previously, Mr. Schlitz served as a Program Analyst for the DoDEA Logistics Division managing the Pacific Region’s student transportation and school outfitting programs to include oversight of the Pacific’s property accounts. Mr. Schlitz also served as the Chief of Supply and Service branch, 10th Area Support Group, Okinawa, Japan.
