VAI Music Therapy

Music therapy is known to help express your voice and experience connection with yourself and others through music. During these sessions, you’ll have opportunities to listen to and create music in order to improve your mood, let go of unwanted tension or stress, practice expressing yourself, and experience community by engaging with others in music.

No training or background in music is needed.

Joy Willenbrink-Conte is a Board-Certified Music Therapist and Austin Vocal Psychotherapist with over ten years of experience working with adolescents and adults toward improved mental health and, specifically, trauma and addiction recovery. Joy believes strongly in the power of music to enable growth and create opportunities to improve health of body, mind, and spirit, especially when experienced in community with others.

The Veteran Arts Initiative (VAI) is a diverse creative arts program that aims to facilitate mental wellness, increase social connectiveness, and create a supportive community to form positive connections with the VA.
