“They’re Heroes Too: A Celebration of Community” by Pat Brisson celebrates the unsung, everyday heroes in our communities. The first full week of May is Public Service Recognition Week, dedicated to the people who serve the nation as federal, state, county, and local government employees. The NVMM recognizes those individuals who help our communities thrive and celebrates these everyday heroes.

Why is Public Service Recognition Week important? It honors public servants and spreads awareness of their impact. With 33% of federal service employees set to retire in 2025, there will be a big void to fill! Public servants play a significant role in our society as they contribute to our well-being and way of life.

Who is a hero in your life? What makes them a hero? Remember, not all heroes wear capes!
