Free Library Days
As a community partner of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, we’re celebrating their 150th anniversary by offering free admission to the Museum when you show your library card. For the month of June, we’ll have programming in recognition of the 75th Anniversary of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act. This act, signed by President Truman on June 12, 1948 allowed women to permanently serve in the regular armed forces.
Stop by the Museum to learn more and engage in the following activities:
On Saturday, June 24, Judy Pearson, U.S. Air Force Veteran and Ohio ambassador for the Military Women’s Memorial in Washington, D.C., will have a display in the Great Hall of the Museum. Judy will talk about the Memorial and share stories of women’s roles in the military throughout our nation’s history.
