Each month, the Museum invites you to get to know the staff supporting our pillars to Honor, Connect, Inspire and Educate. Meet Billy King, our Maintenance Technician.
Q: What is your favorite place in the Museum and why?
A: My favorite place is the Memorial Grove. I like being outdoors and, in the summer, when the fountain is running it is a great place to relax and reflect.
Q: What are three words that best describe you?
A: Curious, Passionate and Loyal.
Q: We feature an #NVMMReads recommendation every month, what is a book that you think everyone should have on their “must-read” list?
A: I am a big fan of Sci-Fi and have fallen in love with the “Red Rising” series. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys Sci-Fi.
Q: What fictional character do you want to be your best friend and why?
A: Bandit Heeler. The dad from Bluey. If you have seen the show, you already know why.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: Going into outer space. That’s pretty lofty so I would definitely settle for seeing a crewed ship launch to space from Cape Canaveral.
Q: If you could join any past or current music group which would you want to join and why?
A: Zac Brown Band. I love their music and feel like they spend a lot of time on the beach.
Q: What is something that no one would believe about you?
A: Before I decided to enlist in the Marine Corps, I was planning on going to school for a Theater degree. I was heavily involved in performing arts in high school and always thought I would end up on a stage or on the big screen someday.
Q: What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
A: Traveling with my family.
