Along with the joy and togetherness among family and friends, we know December also can be a rather hectic and stressful season. Join us for a night of creative expression hosted by Ohio Poet Laureate, Kari Gunter-Seymour. This is an opportunity for all ages to connect in a place of inspiration for an open forum where all voices are welcome and celebrated. Remembering Pearl Harbor

On December 7, 1941, the Empire of Japan executed a surprise attack on the U.S. Naval Base at Pearl Harbor drawing the United States into World War II. Revisit the experiences of Pearl Harbor survivors during what President Roosevelt described as, “A date which will live in infamy,” and one of the most pivotal moments in U.S. history.

Feel-Good Writing Workshop

Unleash your creativity and find joy in the art of writing with a unique writers’ workshop led by renowned Ohio Poet Laureate, Kari Gunter-Seymour! Gunter-Seymour will guide participants through a journey of self-expression focusing on moments of happiness, capturing the energy of specific spaces and recalling experiences.

VAI Music Therapy

Music therapy is known to help express your voice and experience connection with yourself and others through music. On December 7, 1941, the Imperial Japanese Navy launched a surprise attack on the U.S. Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor. We remember the more than 2,400 lives lost and all those who fought back on one of the darkest days in American military history.

U.S. National Guard Birthday

Founded in 1636, they answer the call of our nation by deploying overseas as well as responding to natural disasters in the assistance of friends and neighbors. 

National Wreaths Across America Day

Each December, Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 3,400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad. National Wreaths Across America Day is a time for family and friends to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and those who currently serve in the armed forces. 

U.S. Space Force Birthday

The Space Force is the smallest U.S. armed service, consisting of 8,600 military personnel. The Space Force operates 77 spacecraft in total across various programs such as GPS, Space Fence, military satellite communications constellations, X-37B spaceplanes, U.S. missile warning system, U.S. space surveillance network, and the Satellite Control Network.
